IKEA crowned 'Retailer European of the year' 2010! (prnewswire.com)

Brussels, 14 December 2010/PRNewswire / - today ' today "Retailer European of the year" winner 2010 has been announced. Retailer of the year is the most great consumer survey in Europe and this year the survey was held not less than 10 European countries. More than 1.45 million consumers have participated in the survey of consumer and evaluated more than 1,100 retail chains that characterize the high street.


IKEA, the Swedish giant furniture, made better and can now call itself the "retailer of European of the year" for a whole year. From May 2010 consumers could participate in the survey. During this period the recession has played an important role, which is displayed by the fact that global consumers consider prices the most important aspects, followed by the appearance of products.


How is the survey?


Retailers require their customers to evaluate. Assessment based on a questionnaire, consumers can evaluate multiple strings of retail, where they have shopped over the past year. The evaluation consists of scores for 9 aspects. Based on the score, the winner is determined for each country. The European global award winner is determined based on the classifications of top-5 in all countries, where number 1 receives 5 points and number 5 receives 1 point.
