MORRISVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Alliance One International Inc. said Wednesday that Robert e. "Pete" Harrison has stepped down as Chairman, President and Chief Executive, effective immediately.
The tobacconist said strengthens its team management for the account of the evolution of business models. Civil servants are not specified.
The company turned a profit $ 20.3 million in the quarter of July by September but revenues decreased by 17%.
The Alliance Council Mark Kehaya as Chairman and interim CEO and Pieter Sikkel appointed as President. Robert a. Sheets, Chief Financial Officer, received the additional title of chief administrative officer in the reorganization.
Kehaya is founder and partner of Meriturn Partners, which specializes in business restructurings and turnarounds. He has previously held senior management roles to the Standard Commercial Corp., a predecessor of the Alliance company. Sikkel is Executive Vice President of strategy and relationship management since 2007.
Company share rose 1 percent to $4.16 trading Wednesday.
